2022年8月9日で57回目の誕生日、建国記念日を迎えたシンガポール。
NDP（National Day Parade）と呼ばれるパレードや花火などで盛大にお祝いされる、シンガポールにとって特別な1日です。
そして、その日に向けて毎年テーマソングが作られるのも特徴の一つ。

毎年、どうやったら幅広い国民に届けることができるかを考え、工夫されていて、どれもシンガポール国民として一緒に未来に進んでいこう！といったメッセージが込められています。
毎年5月22日に公開されていて、昨年は少し遅れて7月2日、今年は少し早まり6月2日に公開されました。（日付までチェックするのはかなりマニアックですね）
それでは2022年のテーマソングを聴いてみましょう！
2022年版テーマソング
今年の曲名は「Stronger Together」（みんなで力を合わせよう）。
以下のような思いが込められているとのことです。
「「Stronger Together」はシンガポール国民に団結を呼びかけるとともに、団結によって逆境を乗り越えることを鼓舞するものです。アップビートなメロディーは明るい共有の未来を映し出し、歌詞は私たちに謙虚さと今あるものへの感謝の気持ちを思い出させてくれます。このミュージックビデオは、実際のシンガポール人たちにインスパイアされ、私たちのコミュニティと回復力に焦点をあてています。これらのストーリーは、私たちに団結の力を思い出させ、いかに困難を乗り越え、勝利を祝い、より強い未来に向かって努力することができるかを教えてくれます。」
今回歌っているのは歌手オーディション番組「Singapore Idol」の初代王者であるTaufik Batisah。
後半にはマリーナベイサンズをバックにみんなでダンスするシーンもあり、楽しい雰囲気が伝わってきます。新型コロナウイルスの影響も少し落ち着いてきた中、次のステージに向けてみんなで前を向いて歩いていこうというメッセージが伝わってきます。

最後に
57年という他の国と比較するとかなり若い国であるシンガポール。
同じシンガポール人でも中華系、マレー系、インド系など様々な民族がいる国。
国土は小さく、資源も少ない国。
この57年で大きく成長した国。
今後もシンガポールをより良い国にしていくためには、国民全体がシンガポール人としてのアイデンティティを持って、一致団結していくことが大事だと、外国人の視点（僕は半分シンガポール人ですが）から見ても、感じます。
57年目のシンガポールはさらに良い国になりますように！
